The WSOP Global Casino Championship (formerly known as the National Championship) returns to Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort, near the picturesque Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina.
From August 9-11, the Global Casino Championship will be played out under the lights of the ESPN cameras, with a WSOP gold bracelet up for grabs, as well as a minimum of ,000,000 in prize money.
This is a historic year for this tournament. For the first time ever, it will welcome players from the WSOP International Circuit events. Players from venues in Morocco, Georgia, Italy, the Czech Republic, and other locales will join the contingent of qualifiers from the domestic WSOP Circuit.
The 2016 Global Casino Championship is both the culmination of the 2015/2016 WSOP Circuit year and a kickoff party for next season. Harrah’s Cherokee will host the first Circuit stop of the 2016/2017 season from August 4-16, and the Global Casino Championship will be held in its midst. The full Circuit stop will feature the standard 12 ring events, including a ,675 Main Event and a ,200 High Roller.
